VISUAL TRIBUTE: Maya Angelou

Renowned Poet Maya Angelou passed away Wednesday at her home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at at age 86.  Angelou was a dancer, actress, director and also a singer.  She is best known for her series of seven autobiographies that focused on early childhood trauma, racism and life experiences such as in the very popular book I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.  She also released her first album "Miss Calypso" in 1957 and worked closely with both Martin Luther King, Jr. & Malcolm X during The Civil Rights Movement.  Maya Angelou is survived by her son Guy Johnson who's also a poet and novelist.   She will be greatly missed and continues to inspire and influence generations!
