Well New York Fashion Week is off with a bang! I never really get involved until Alexander Wang shows. After that, I'm in.

It's exhausting trying to keep on top of the shows to be honest. I am only one person and I'm struggling! I am going to do my best. I decided many seasons ago only to review shows I really like. So that means no Yeezy, sorry not sorry.

So Victoria Beckham is my first. I have to say that while the white outfit in the  top image leaves me a bit confused and wondering how that would translate on a body over a size 4 but as I scrolled though, I enjoyed the show. I don't think this really appealed to me until I saw the velvet and jewel tones.

I get a bit bored of pastel and prints for summer so seeing a good splash of color always makes me excited to see in the season. It does feel a bit weird writing a review about the start of the summer while this current season is finishing. I prefer autumn though if I am honest. I am ready for a season of layers.

So back to the show. I was impressed with the color choices which in places, the orange and mustard in particular, seemed very Autumnal. As Vogue pointed out and I agree, Beckham is keen to put distance between herself and those skin tight dresses of her first collections. I see the shapes get more relaxed and the fabrics are more comfortable then previous collections. It's a good thing. Well, for those of us above a size 10 it totally is.
Mixing of texture was a big focus with knit, canvas and leather boots, silks and velvets together.  Is
velvet not a bold choice for summer given that it is not the most breathable fabric going?

Still, overall, a likeable but not ground breaking collection with a few good notes about rule breaking colors and fabrics.
